Government of Haryana awards Hughes at the Digital Haryana Summit 2017

Gurgaon, 19 September 2017: The Government of Haryana on the 50th anniversary of the formation of the state of Haryana presented the “The Pioneer” award to Hughes. Mr. Vinod Sood, Managing Director, Hughes Systique received the award from Shri Manohar Lal Khattar CM of Haryana, Shri Suresh Prabhu Union Minister for Commerce Industry and Shri Manoj Sinha Union Minister for Communications at the Digital Haryana Summit held at Gurgaon on 15th September 2017.

The Award is in recognition of the contributions made by HUGHES in laying the foundation stone for the growth and development of IT Sector in Gurgaon. Hughes was the 1st IT company to set up its Engineering RD center at Gurgaon in the early 1990’s.

Speaking at the occasion Mr. Vinod Sood said, “This Award is the result of all the hard work put in by the present and past team members of Hughes companies (Hughes Systique, Hughes Communications, Hughes India and Hughes Software Systems) in India during the last 25 years. This award is also a testimony to the foresight of the leadership team at Hughes Network Systems USA (Mr Pradman Kaul, Mr Pradeep Kaul and Mr Anil Sharma) who could envision Gurgaon’s immense potential as a hub for IT/ITeS industry way back in nineties when Bangalore was the preferred choice of MNC’s for setting up their RD centres.”
