HSC recently attended Enterprise Connect in Florida. Here is an event summary of trends:

What started as PBX CON 22 years ago and became Voice Con in 2000 is now called the Enterprise Connect since the last few years. This year’s show had bigger presence than previous years with over 170 exhibitors. WebRTC was a buzzword in the show. There was a separate WebRTC theater for conference programs on WebRTC.  Many small companies came out with apps and services for audio, video and data sharing. Hosted contact centres was another theme being showcased. Multiple vendors wre displaying cloud-based communications services and systems that connect to either Microsoft Lync or Cisco for the last mile voice/presence/IM delivery that enterprises deploying contact centers would like to have. Unified Communication (UC) also had a major presenceApart from the obvious Microsoft and Cisco, relatively bigger players like Avaya, Sonus, Polycom etc were showcasing Lync and Cisco certified SBCs, phones and clients. There were many companies offering development and deployment services to enterprise customers (particularly the SMB) – customizing Microfoft  Lync/Cisco deployments. Other smaller solution or technology areas which were showcased at Enterprise connect included Video systems and services, management systems and applications for unified/converged networks, social networks and applications including analytics, SIP trunking and next gen public networks.
