Job Description :
The Projects involve design and development of Access Stratum (AS) and Non-Access Stratum (NAS) Protocol Software for Embedded target for User Terminal / Mobile. The protocol software layers involved are RLC, MAC, PDCP, and RRC, NAS for 3G / UMTS / GPRS / LTE and GMR-3G (Satellite) Systems. The projects involve development of both control and data plane on embedded targets, Linux/Unix, real-time operating systems (RTOS) – VxWorks, ThreadX on ARM processors – using C/C++ and provides immense challenge towards designing software for low-memory and power constraint mobile devices.
Key work Accountabilities / Responsibilities for the Position Holder:
- Design and development, test planning & testing of modules in the User Terminal software stack layers
- Design of interfaces with other layers.
- Low Level Design, Coding, test planning and testing, debugging of modules
- System integration with control plane and interfacing layers and with Gateway component
- Integration testing, test script development
- Comply with Quality processes and meeting the quality targets (defect density, code coverage, etc.)
- Technical Documentation as per convention agreed upon with the customer
Mandatory Skills:
- Very Good C/C++ Programming Skills
- Good understanding of OS internals (.e.g. inter task communication, task scheduling)
- Experience in RLC, MAC (Layer2) Or RRC (Layer 3) Or NAS protocols
- Experience in a wireless domain be it GPRS / UMTS / 3G / LTE Or Satellite
- Good experience of working with Linux/Unix or a real-time operating system
- Good debugging skills and comfortable with usage of tools for memory leaks detection, code coverage, code profiling, build & package, etc.
- Ability to map requirements to High level design, low level design, code, test plans
Desired Profile:
- Understanding of VxWorks, ThreadX OS / RTOS
- Experience in on-target debugging
- Experience in embedded software development for ARM based chipset.
- Any Experience/Exposure to Satellite technology is a added plus.
Experience : 2 to 5 yrs
Educational Qualification : B.E / B.Tech / MCA / M.Tech/ M.Sc.
