Abstract: HSC has been involved in Design, development and integration of Satellite Access Stratum (AS). based on 3GPP Release 6 Specifications. HSC was responsible for complete AS Design/development as well as integration with multiple interfaces viz. Non-Access Stratum (NAS), Physical Layer, Network and Platform.
Salient features of Project are:
- UT System Architecture/Design
- Participation in RLC/MAC/RRC Air Interface Specifications and NAS-AS Interface specifications for Satellite Environment
- Test Environment design and development for Control and Data Path Testing
- Integration of Satellite AS components with L1/DSP (Customer HW), NAS and Satellite BSS
- AS optimizations:
- Zero byte header compression for VoIP
- Simultaneous support for Dedicated and Packet Channels
- Zero buffer copy
Customer Benefits:
- Support to Customer in finalizing Air Interface Specifications and finalizing interfaces with NAS Vendor
- Developed elaborate test setup to do real-time testing of Data Path. Test setup was reused in Sub-system and System Integration
- Proactive support towards System and Sub-system Integration
